Slime Care

Nothing lasts forever! But slime can have a long shelf-life so long as it’s properly cared for. Follow these tips to extend the lifespan of your slime.

  1. ALWAYS wash your hands before play and after play.
  2. Play for only 10-15 minutes at a time.
  3. Store in an airtight container.
  4. Store away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  5. Slime will melt over time and can be easily reactivated with a borax solution.
  6. Slime can also dry and harden over time. Water, glycerin, and/or glue base can be added.

For best results, please allow slimes to come to room temperature for at least 6 hours upon delivery before making adjustments.

Melted or sticky slime? Knead in small amounts of activator until desired texture is accomplished. Be careful not to over-activate.

Some textures are sticky by design for the purpose of preventing fallout. Refer to our Slime Texture Guide.

How to make slime activator:

  1. Add 1 teaspoon of borax powder to 1 cup of warm water.
  2. Mix until dissolved.
  3. Store activator solution in an airtight container.

Note: Crystallization over time is normal and can be redissolved by heating and mixing the solution.

Dried out clay? 1) Mix the clay piece into slime and it will soften over time or 2) store the clay piece with a damp paper towel in an air-tight container for a few days.

Overactivated or stiff slime? Knead in lotion, glycerin, glue, or baby oil. Slime also will naturally melt over a period of time.

To soften clear slimes, we suggest adding glycerin, clear glue, or placing the slime in a warm area to maintain the clarity.
